Bears eliminated

Pleasant Valley fell 2-0 to Parkland in the second round of the District 11boys soccer playoffs.

Parkland got a goal in the first half from Eric Mikitka to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. The Trojans got an insurance goal from Logan Howell in the second half to put the game away. Parkland goalie Jacob Gottwald wasn't tested often, making two saves in the contest.Andrew Hanson made five saves for Pleasant Valley.Pleasant Valley coach Chris Pachuta had high praise for his team after the game."I think we played really well this season," Pachuta said. "We had high expectations for this season because we had so many seniors on the team."Pachuta was especially happy with his seniors and the leadership they provided throughout the season."This was the first class I had for four years as a coach," Pachuta said. "I think the seniors set an example that the younger kids will follow. I want them to realize that we have one of the top programs in the area and I want them to play like it."I want them to play soccer the way its meant to be played."Overall, Pachuta likes the course his team is on."I think the program is going in the right direction," Pachuta said. "I am very proud of them."With the win, Parkland moves on to face the winnner of the Stroudsburg-Pocono Mountain East game.
