Pink hats, pink lights for breast cancer awareness

Published October 25. 2012 05:02PM

These three Mancuso gals all wear the same pink hat for the 9th Annual Pink Light Walk in Gilbert, to help get the word out to fight against breast cancer. Colleen Mancuso, a Monroe County magisterial district court judge, and her daughters, Julia and Emilia, joined over 200 others in the walk from the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert, from Route 209 and back on West End Fairgrounds Road. After the walk there was a balloon release. Participants were treated to cake. Winners of the tricky tray and door prizes were announced and they heard Vivian Vega and Kelli Mercurio, both breast cancer survivors, talk about their new Breast Friends affiliate in Stroudsburg. Breast Friends believes no woman should go through the cancer experience alone and offers emotional, spiritual and physical support.
