School burglarized in Schuylkill Co.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating a burglary that happened between Sept. 29 and Oct. 20 in Barry Township.

Police said someone burglarized the Barry Elementary School, 1091 Deep Creek Road, by possibly prying open a rear door to the building.

Once inside the unknown actor(s) removed various amounts and types of scrap steel and copper piping, valued at approximately $12,000.

Police said the burglar(s) also smashed three sinks, two urinals and a water fountain, all of which are porcelain, before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction with the steel and copper.

Police have identified the victim as Morgan Yarnell, 27, of Ashland.
