Mother is facing harassment charge

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating a harassment incident that happened at 8 p.m. Oct. 20 in Cressona.

Police said the incident happened at 60 Schuylkill St. when Marisol Viera, 41, of Cressona, became involved in a verbal altercation with her son, Pedro louis Carmenate, 19, also of Cressona. Police said it is alleged the woman lunged at her son, who attempted to restrain her, and, during the course of the altercation, the son was scratched repeatedly on the neck and thrown into a wall. Police said the woman fled to Pottsville prior to the arrival of police.
