Burglary, theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a burglary at a Carbon County residence and also probing theft incidents.

The break-in occurred at 24 Pool Drive, in Penn Forest Township. Troopers said an air conditioner was removed from a front window to gain entry. Once inside the criminals removed cash, jewelry, alcohol, and DVDs. The incident occurred sometime overnight of Oct. 18-19. The home is owned by Thomas Planco, 66, of Little Neck, N.Y.

Elizabeth Kozar, 45, of 9346 W. Sherwood Drive, Kunkletown, Polk Township, reported someone stole a battery charger from her property sometime between Oct. 17-19.

Samantha Elizabeth Hrbek, 21, of 117 Cedar Hollow Road, Saylorsburg, Eldred Township, Monroe County, reported someone removed the registration plate from her 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier while parked at her residence. The theft occurred sometime between Oct. 17-18. The plate number is HXE0950.

Joanne Fisher, 57, of Effort, reported while driving in the area of Preachers Camp Road, while on SR209, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, her vehicle was shot by unknown criminals with an air rifle causing paint damage. The incident occurred about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20. Troopers searched the area but nothing was found.
