Rig jackknifes, driver is uninjured

No one was hurt when a tractor trailer jackknifed on Oct. 20 at 4:20 a.m. on Bethel Road in Pine Grove Township.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said Kennya L. Jackson, 37, of Ringtown, was driving the 2005 Peterbuilt 378 north on the roadway and was negotiating a left curve on a downhill grade roadway that was wet at the time. Police said the vehicle jackknifed to the left, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck an embankment with its right front portion. the vehicle continued to travel forward and went across both lanes of travel. Police said the unit went off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail with its rear portion, coming to rest shortly after impacting the guardrails.

Police said Jackson will be cited as a result of the accident.
