Monroe driver facing DUI count

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 16.

Pocono Mountain Regional police were dispatched to the Aharts Plaza, in Blakeslee, about 4:45 p.m. to a report of an intoxicated female outside the Wine & Spirts store.

Upon arrival officers observed a female attempting to driver away. She was identified as Jeri A. Jumper, 56, of Blakeslee. She was found to be intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests.

She was then taken into custody and transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. She was later released to another adult.

The DUI charge is pending the test results.
