A Carbon County man admitted assaulting his ex-girlfriend and harassing her and her new boyfriend during guilty plea proceedings Thursday in Carbon County court.

His plea was one of 11 accepted by Judge Steven R. Serfass.

Lehighton incidents.

Steven Paul Brownmiller, 49, of Lehighton, pleaded in two pending cases.

He pleaded to one count of each of simple assault, unauthorized use of an automobile, and harassment for an incident on June 19 in Mahoning Township. Police were called to the 1100 block of Packer Dam Drive when Brownmiller had assaulted Lisa Hunter.

In the second case he pleaded to loitering and prowling at night for an incident on June 12 at 457 S. Seventh St., in Lehighton, with Hunter and David Sherry the listed victims.

Serfass deferred sentencing so Browmiller can get a mental health evaluation. Serfass said he wanted to read the results of that evaluation before imposing a sentence.
