Two area projects were reviewed by the Schuylkill County Planning Commission at its monthly meeting held at the courthouse in Pottsville.

Tamaqua Area Water Authority informed the board it is applying to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for renewal of an existing National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. The authority seeks to discharge treated process wastewater into the Little Schuylkill River from the authority's water treatment plant located 1.2 miles upstream of the confluence of the Little Schuylkill River and Neifert Creek in Rush Township.

Lehigh Asphalt Paving and Construction Company, West Penn Township, informed the county planning board it intends to submit a plan approval application for their facility in West Penn Township.

The board gave final approval to the subdivision plan of Rausch Creek Land, L.P., Porter Township, to annex 50.17 acres in the village of Good Springs to Mark Kroh.

Haluska Minor Subdivision received a conditional approval for its plan to convert 22,800 square feet on which stands a former church building, catholic school and rectory on North Second Street, Minersville, into a single family and commercial development.
