A Schuylkill County driver is facing several charges, including driving under the influence (DUI), following an incident that occurred early this morning.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident began about 1:20 a.m. when Kyle Robert Marx, 24, of Cumbola, failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Second and E. Lawton streets, in Saint Clair. Troopers attempted to stop Marx but he sped away.

A short pursuit ensued which ended when Marx crashed his Saturn SCI on S. Eagle Hill Road, in Blythe Township.

Marx was found to be intoxicated, troopers said, and was placed under arrest.

He was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for a blood test.

Charges pending against Marx include DUI, recklessly endangering, and fleeing and eluding.
