Tamaqua police officers Matt Houser and Joe Krebs were on bicycle patrol during Sunday's Heritage Festival when they spotted a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker driving past them on West Broad Street.

After pulling the vehicle over the driver, Marc Joseph Tita, of 108 Hunter St. in Tamaqua, jumped out of the vehicle and took off towards the North Ward.

Houser and Krebs gave chase on their bicycles, eventually apprehending Tita on Rowe Street. Tita was a fugitive wanted out of Allentown by Lehigh County probation office. He was also charged with driving without a license. Other citations were issued. The passenger was also cited. Krebs is the investigating officer.
