SERFASS/TIMES NEWS Volunteer firefighters with the Hometown Fire Company spent time Tuesday teaching both elementary students and community members about safety, as well as the importance of having smoke and CO detectors. They started off their day giving presentations to students at the Rush Elementary School. Later in the day, they held an open house at their fire company, offering advice and tips to the public. Also participating were Rush Township Police and Fire Police.Rush Township's youngest cop suited up Tuesday night during open house at Hometown Fire Company. Volunteer firefighters with the Hometown Fire Company spent time Tuesday teaching both elementary students and community members about safety, as well as the importance of having smoke and CO detectors.

They started off their day giving presentations to students at the Rush Elementary School.

Later in the day, they held an open house at their fire company, offering advice and tips to the public.

Also participating were Rush Township Police and Fire Police.

Rush Township's youngest cop suited up Tuesday night during open house at Hometown Fire Company.
