Bears get the best of Lehighton

Pleasant Valley got the best of Lehighton in boys soccer, girls soccer and field hockey on Friday.


Lehighton-Pleasant Vy

Pleasant Valley defeated Lehighton in a Mountain Valley Conference game, 5-0.

Pleasant Valley was dominate as it created 25 shots on goal to Lehighton's two.

Goals for the Bears were scored by: Mike Masullom, Jordan Walters, Justin Habick, and Charles Ortiz. The fifth goal was an own goal by the Indians.

Pleasant Valley improves to 12-3-1 (7-1). Lehighton's record is now 6-8 (3-7).

No. Lehigh-PM West

Pocono Mountian West defeated Northern Lehigh, 9-4, in non-conference action.

Pocono Mountain West got hat tricks from Mikey Gaudette and Kody Grlica. Zebulon Shiffert had two goals for Northern Lehigh. Tyler Hoppes and Gavin Kemery added the other goals for Northern Lehigh.


Northwestern defeated Palmerton 4-2 in Colonial League action.

Jon Schwartz and Austin Shupp scored the two goals for Palmerton, both in the second half. Richard Roselli made five saves for the Bombers.


Pleasant Valley-Lehighton

Pleasant Valley defeated Lehighton 8-0 in Mountain Valley Conference action.

Emily Scholgel had a hat trick for Pleasant Valley, scoring two goals in the first half. Emma Sabobic added two goals for Pleasant Valley. Kayla Troutman made 14 saves for Lehighton.

With the win, Pleasant Valley moves to 12-3 on the season, 9-1 in MVC play. With the loss, Lehighton falls to 3-11, 1-8 in the MVC.


Lehighton-Pleasant Vy

Pleasant Valley downed Lehighton in Mountain Valley Conference action, 4-2.

Goals for Pleasant Valley were scored by: Nina Staats, Sam Moss, and Hayley Williams (2). There were assists contributed by Melissa Russo (3) and Ann Marie Butchkowski.

Sarah Keer scored for the Indians on a Gwen Remaley assist. Remaley also added a goal.


Palmerton defeated Northwestern 2-1 in Colonial League action.

Kyla Rodrigues scored both of Palmerton's goals in the first half. Palmerton survived a scare when Alex Lerner scored for Northwestern in the second half to make the game 2-1. Devon Smith had four saves for Palmerton.

Northern Lehigh-Pen Argyl

It took overtime to decide the winner of the Colonial League contest between Northern Lehigh and Pen Argyl. Northern Lehigh came out on top, 1-0.

Kelsey Follweiler scored the deciding goal in overtime for Northern Lehigh with an assist from Jessie Olewine. Northern Lehigh got 13 saves from Nicole Horn.


Weatherly-Lake Lehman

Lake Lehman defeated Weatherly, 25-13, 25-15, 25-16 in a non-league match.

For Weatherly; Lindsay Douglas had four digs, four assists, five blocks and one ace. Alexis Hartz contributed four kills and two digs. Carlie Hinkle had three kills, three digs, two blocks and one ace.
