Luzerne driver cited in McAdoo
A Hazleton man has been cited by McAdoo police following an incident on Sept. 9.
Patrolman Steven Homanko was on routine patrol at 2 a.m. when he observed a 2002 Subaru being driven on Kennedy Drive at a high rate of speed. The vehicle proceeded to turn on to West Blaine Street and the operator failed to use a turn signal. Homanko stopped the Subaru and identified the driver as Ramon Zoquier Medina, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
Medina failed several field sobriety tests and was given a portable breath test, which indicated a blood alcohol reading of .15 percent, almost double the legal limit of .08. percent. He refused to take a blood test.
He was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, making an improper turn and careless driving.
