Jim Thorpe police are seeking the whereabouts of a Schuylkill County man who is being sought on assault counts.

Police have charged Alfred A. Bond III, 25, last known address of 135 E. Ruddle St., Coaldale, with aggravated assault, a felony two, simple assault, a misdemeanor two, and harassment, a summary offense.

According to police on March 24 Aubrey Roth reported he was at the residence of his daughter, at 21 W. Third St., about 10:30-11 p.m. when he got into a confrontation with Bond.

He said he stepped outside and was struck by Bond, who at the time he knew only as "Alf," with a claw hammer several times. He fell to the ground unconscious. Roth sustained multiple facial fractures, including an orbital eye fracture, contusions to his left inner thigh and right lower leg, police said. A witness identified the attacker as Bond, police added.

Police made numerous attempts to interview Bond but he refused. The charges were then filed. Anyone who has information on Bond is asked to call police at (570) 325-4995.
