Tamaqua group donates to storm victims
special to the times news
After hearing about the plight of a Kline Township family, the Tamaqua Volunteers community initiative group talked with Wells Fargo Bank in McAdoo to create a fund for the family. A fallen tree from Superstorm Sandy had caused major damage to the Bahrey's home, located at 15 Haddock Street in Kline Township. The drive resulted in $1,635 donated by the public. The group stressed their appreciation to the TIMES NEWS for doing a story about the family's plight and all the generous contributors who took the time to give. The Bahrey family is still being helped by the Tamaqua Salvation Army, Opportunity House of Schuylkill County and Schuylkill County Disaster Recovery Coalition.
