Published November 29. 2012 05:02PM

On Sunday, December 2, Zion UCC, Second and Iron Street, Lehighton, will host it's annual ecumenical Cantata, One King at 7:30 p.m. in the sactuary.

The cantata tells the story of the birth of Christ through readings and contemporary and classical songs.

Seventy plus singers will be on hand representing churches and groups from around Carbon County.

The group of singers will be accompanied by Zion's Festival Orchestra, a group of 20 musicians from Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Soloists for the event are Brent Harris and Shannon Frycklund. Narrators are Kathy Long and Judy Harris. Also featured are Zion's Choraliers and friend, a junior choir.

In addition to the cantata itself, Cindy Mack will provide music from Zion's grand pipe organ and the Festival Orchestra will provide additional music ranging from O Holy Night to music from the Polar Express.

The event is free to the public.
