Break-in, theft incident probed

State police at Lehighton are invsetigating a burglary and theft incident.

The break-in occurred at a residence at 413 Bear Creek Drive, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Entry was gained by breaking a basement window. Once inside the home was rummaged through. It was not noted if anything was taken.

The incident occurred sometime between Sept. 15 and Nov. 14. The home is owned by Richard Joseph Kohler, 75, of Danboro, Bucks County.

The theft incident occurred at the Bowmanstown Diner. Troopers said a 14-year-old female from Saylorsburg reported she was at the diner with family and friends.

Upon leaving she left her iPod Touch (fourth generation, 32 GB), in a pink case lying on the table. Upon realizing she left the Ipod she returned but it was gone.

The incident was reported at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 17.
