Lehigh crashes

State police at Fogelsville reported on two crashes investigated by troopers, one involving a Slatington driver and the other crash a driver from Schuylkill County.

Troopers said a two vehicle crash occurred about 4:29 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, along SR29 at the intersection with Beck Rd., in Upper Milford Township. Troopers said Randy L. Stone, 44, of Slatington, was northbound operating a 2011 Dodge Caravan and approaching the intersection while Pat T. Rossignuolo, 82, of Macungie, was stopped at a stop sign on Beck Rd. in a 2007 Toyota Avalon.Troopers Rossignuolo pulled out and into the path of Stone and a collision occurred.Rossignuolo and his wife, Adelaide, 85, and Stone, were injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Two passengers with Stone, Rachel Stone, 8, and Catherine Stone, 6, same address as the driver, were not injured.Troopers cited Rossignuolo for sign stop and yield sign violation.A two vehicle crash occurred about 6:36 a.m. on Monday, June 27, along Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township. Troopers said Sebastian R. Chaves Vargas, 25, of Dayton, Ohio, was eastbound in the left lane operating a 2000 Chevrolet 3500 truck, pulling a trailer, while Darlington D. Deeter, 73, of Schuylkill Haven, was also eastbound in the right lane driving a 1994 Mack dump truck.Vargas lost control of his vehicle when the trailer began to sway. The Chevrolet crossed into the right lane and the passenger side and trailer struck the driver side tires of the dump truck.No one was injured with damages disabling to the Chevrolet.Troopers cited Vargas for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
