Published November 26. 2012 05:05PM

State police at Frackville are looking for a hit-and-run driver involved in a crash that occurred about 9:25 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, along the 100 block of W. Main St., in Girardville.

Troopers said a 2002 Hyundai Elantra sedan was driven eastbound at a high rate of speed when, for unknown reasons, it swerved out of its lane of travel on the right side. The Elantra struck a parked 1993 Ford van, which was on the shoulder of the road.

The van was pushed about 10 feet east into an adjacent parking lot. The Elantra came to rest on the shoulder of the road facing east. The driver then exited the car and fled on foot.

Witnesses described the driver as a white male, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. Damages to the van were minor but heavy to the front end of the Elantra.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570)-874-5300.

Troopers also investigated a one-vehicle crash about 9:20 a.m. on Nov. 21 along Valley Road in Cass Township. Troopers said Russell M. Klinger, 24, of Ashland, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu northbound and rounding a right curve when he lost control. The car left the road on the west side and rolled over several times before coming to rest in a yard.

Klinger refused treatment, troopers said.

He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
