Rachel Holmberg and Ted Oberg are wed

Rachel Holmberg, daughter of Joseph and Deborah Holmberg of Tamaqua, and Ted Oberg, son of Christopher and Diane Oberg of Lancaster, were united in marriage on May 19, 2012 at St. Therese's Catholic Church in Shavertown, Pa. The Rev. James Paisley officiated the double ring ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose her cousin, Sandra Davis of Hazlet, N.J. to be her matron of honor.Bridesmaids included Kayla Hope, Tamaqua, cousin of the bride; Erika Delperdang, Lancaster, sister of the bridegroom; Ashley Zigmant, Macungie; Katie Guarnieri, Pittstown; Jaime Heintzelman, Macungie; and Erica Hettler, Mechanicsburg.Ella and Lilah Delperdang, nieces of the bridegroom, were the flower girls.The bridegroom chose his brother, Stu Oberg of California, Md., to be his best man.Groomsmen were Joseph Holmberg, Tamaqua, brother of the bride; Joshua Muller, Mechanicsburg; Michael Kincaide, Baltimore, Md.; Joshua Hoffman, Baltimore, Md.; Patrick Corrigan, Baltimore, Md.; and Gregory Lattimer, Sykesville.Colin Davis of Hazlet, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.Following the ceremony, the couple welcomed family and friends to a reception at Genetti's in Wilkes-Barre. They honeymooned on a two-week Mediterranean cruise, visiting Spain, Italy and France.Pre-nuptial parties included a wedding shower, hosted by the bridesmaids and mother of the bride, at Edgewood in the Pines in Drums; as well as a wedding rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the bridegroom, at Theo's Metro Greek Restaurant.The new Mrs. Oberg earned a bachelor of science degree and a master's of business administration from Misericordia University in Dallas, Pa. She is employed at the university, where she serves as assistant director of admissions.Mr. Oberg graduated from Messiah College with a bachelor of science degree. He is employed as a financial adviser for Edward Jones in Dallas.The newlyweds currently reside in Shavertown.
