Needed bell ringers

Mel Latham of Lansford donates her time at a Salvation Army red kettle. Officers at the Tamaqua Salvation Army say they are in short supply of holiday bell ringers to stand at the red donation kettles. The kettles are located at Boyer's Food Market in both Lansford and Tamaqua, Wal-Mart in both Hometown and Lehighton, Redner's Market in Nesquehoning, Jim Thorpe Market, E-Z Mart in West Penn Township, Big Lots in Lehighton and others. "We greatly appreciate the support of the local businesses that provide our Salvation Army locations for our bell ringers," said Major Margaret Johnson. Shifts include anytime between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Children must be accompanied by an adult. To volunteer, call the Salvation Army at (570) 668-0410.
