Low income families, veterans invited to holiday meal

Carbon Mountaineers Marine Corps League 996 and Aquashicola Fire Company are again sponsoring a full course dinner for veterans, low income families and individuals and elderly people who reside in the Palmerton Area School District.

Veterans, families and individuals who want to take part in this outreach are invited to the Holiday Dinner which will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at the Aquashicola Fire Company, Aquashicola. The fire company is located on-quarter mile east of Palmerton on Little Gap Road.

Santa will be present for the kiddies and there will be entertainment from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Reservations are required. Call H.F. (Nick) Hawkey with names, addresses and ages of those who are planning to attend at (610) 826-6565. Families with children up to age 14 will also have the opportunity to register for toys at the dinner through the Blue Ridge Food and Toy Drive.

The information is needed as soon as possible so that preparations can be in place for the dinner for all who attend.
