State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating two crashes on Wednesday, Nov. 14, along Schuylkill County roads.

A two vehicle crash was reported at 1 p.m. at Chestnut and Second streets, in Cressona. Troopers said Joseph Anthony Maiorino, 72, no address given, was driving a 2008 Nissan Altima northbound on Chestnut (SR183), while Donna Sawczak, 64, no address given, was southbound operating a 2006 Chrysler 300.

Maiorino attempted to make a left turn onto Second Street and turned directly in front of Sawczak and a collision occurred. Maiorino sustained a minor injury and was taken to a Pottsville hospital. Sawczak was not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

A four vehicle, rear-end type crash was reported about 2:17 p.m. along SR61 at Manheim Road, in North Manheim Township.

Troopers said Erech J. Noecker, 46, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 1966 Chevrolet northbound and approaching stopped traffic at Manheim Road. He was unable to stop and hit the rear of a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Mario E. Nieves, 39, of New Britian, Conn. The Jeep was pushed into the rear of a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Kasey L. Schaeffer, 19, of Orwigsburg, which was pushed into the rear of a 2009 Hyundai Sonata operated by Allen L. Bainbridge, 78, of Orwigsburg.

A passenger with Nieves, Damarys Singh, 45, of Pottsville, was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. No one else was reported injured.
