A driver and his passenger fled an accident scene in Schuylkill County. State police at Frackville said the incident occurred about 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 192 Jeams St., in Blythe Township.

Troopers said Joseph Renninger, 27, of Middleport, was driving a 1992 Ford Mustang northbound when he lost control while negotiating a left curve. The car spun around and struck a tree with the rear end of the vehicle. The impact caused the pole to be sheared off. The car came to final rest on the east berm.Renninger and his passenger, Joseph Rolenaitis, 20, also of Middleport, fled the scene. Both were later found and taken to a Pottsville area hospital to be evaluated for minor injuries.Troopers said Renninger will be cited for multiple motor vehicle code violations. The car had to be towed from the scene.
