Rush Elementary holds veterans program

Students and staff of the Rush Township Elementary School held a Veteran's Day program at the school.

The public was invited to attend to event, which consisted of singing, patriotic poems, video/photo slideshow of area veterans, recognition of attending veterans, presentation of butterfly trees and fire detail and playing of Taps via members of the Tamaqua American Legion Post 173.Program organizer Samantha Yachera stated her appreciation to all the attending veterans and visitors, as well as all the work the students and fellow teachers put into program.James Fasnacht, Tamaqua Elementary Schools Principal, pointed out that this event was one of four veteran programs being held over the next few days at the Tamaqua School District, such as flag raising service this morning at the Tamaqua High School, veterans program this morning at the Tamaqua Elementary School and veterans program Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the West Penn Elementary School. He added that all these programs are open to the public.
