One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred about 6:59 p.m. on Tuesday along Valley Road in Walker Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Ruth M. Wellington, 38, of Andreas, was driving a 1999 Jeep Cherokee northbound and negotiating a right hand curve when she lost control. The vehicle left the lane of travel and struck a parked and unoccupied 2003 Dodge Durango. After impact the Jeep rotated 189-degrees counterclockwise and came to rest facing south. The Durango rotated 45 degrees counterclockwise.

Wellington sustained a possible neck injury and was transported to St. Luke’s Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, by Tamaqua ambulance. A passenger, a 14-year-old male from Andreas, was not injured.

The Jeep had to be towed from the scene. The owner of the struck vehicle was identified as Daniel E. Stahley, 38, of Tamaqua.

Troopers cited Wellington for the crash.
