Schuylkill teen dies of injuries

A Schuylkill County teen, who was seriously injured when the vehicle he was a passenger in was involved in a crash on Oct. 19 has died of those injuries.

The Lehigh County coroner's office said Kyle Bender, 15, of 152 N. State St., Branchdale, died at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, at 3:48 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1. The cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma he sustained in the crash.

The accident occurred about 3:47 p.m. along Center St., in Frailey Township, according to state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks.

Bender was a passenger in a vehicle operated by Wayne A. Kimmel Sr., of Donaldson. Four persons were injured in the crash, but troopers said Bender and the other driver, Ryan J. Donmoyey, 34, also of Donaldson, sustained the most serious injuries and were flown to LVH by Medevac helicopter.
