Published May 26. 2012 09:02AM

Amber Allen, 20, of 248 W. Ridge St., Lansford, and Stephanie Forrester, 20, of the same address, face charges after an incident which occurred on March 20 at 6:07 p.m. Charges of simple assault and harassment were filed by Officer Joshua Tom. Here's what happened, according to an affidavit of probable cause:

Tom and fellow officer Brian Horos were on duty when they received a call about an active domestic dispute between two females. They arrived on scene to find Allen and Forrester, spoke with both women and learned that each had assaulted the other.

Forrester allegedly tried to choke Allen and slammed her into walls. Allen, who had red marks around her neck, allegedly punched Forrester in the face, choked her and ripped her clothing and causing her to bleed from her mouth and nose. Tom saw red marks around her neck, but no blood.

Neither woman needed medical attention. Forrester was arrested for violating the protection-from-abuse order that Allen had filed against her. Charges will be filed against Allen, and more against Forrester under the Domestic Violence Act.

Allen was asked to come to the police station to give a written statement; Forrester was given her Miranda rights and requested an attorney.
