Three persons were injured in a two vehicle crash that occurred about 4:26 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, along SR335 (Kunkletown Road), in Ross Township, Monroe County.

State police at Lehighton said Emilia A. Valente, 19, of Kresgeville, was operating a 2005 Subaru Impreza eastbound and failed to negotiate a right curve. Her vehicle left the road and struck a guide rail. It then continued east and struck a 2005 Dodge Stratus driven westbound by Joann M. Quinn, 57, of Ashfield.

Valente, Quinn and her passenger, Edith M. Semmel, 86, of Kunkletown, were all injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by Wind Gap ambulance. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Valente for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
