Theft from vehicle incident probed

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a theft from vehicle incident that was reported on May 15.

Maria L. Aitken, of Effort, reported her Suzuki Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was entered while parked on the lot at the Rite Aid pharmacy, located at the intersection of state routes 115 and 209, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Removed from the vehicle was Aitken's purse, green in color, which contained her driver's license, a debit card, Social Security card, and about $60 in U.S. currency.

The theft occurred sometime between 2:50 and 3 p.m.

Troopers are also investigating a criminal mischief incident. Christine Andrews, 68, of 33 Talbot Lane, Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, reported someone damaged and opened the lock to the exterior water well to her residence. The incident occurred sometime between May 9-16.
