Schuylkill crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a one vehicle crash about 9:34 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, along Meadow Drive, near the Landingville boat launch, in South Manheim Township, Schuylkill County. It was one of two crashes probed by troopers

Troopers said Michael N. Krause, 22, of Orwigsburg, was operating a 2002 Ford northbound and negotiating a right turn when deer entered the road in front of him.

Troopers said Krause was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time. Krause attempted to avoid the animal when he vehicle began to fishtail and spun counter-clockwise 180-degrees before entering the berm and rolling over about 60 feet before coming to rest on its wheels.

Krause sustained a minor injury that did not require immediate medical attention. Troopers cited him for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

The second crash was reported at 11:51 a.m. on Monday, May 21, along Municipal Road, in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Amber A. Menne, 23, of Ashland, was driving a 1990 Pontiac 6000 northbound when the car left the road and struck a utility pole along the berm. Menne was not injured. She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
