Copper piping stolen in Monroe

Copper piping was reported stolen from a Monroe County property. The burglary was one of several incidents probed by state police at Lehighton.

Troopers said the property of Windy Hill Pet Rescue, located along Wind Hill Road, in Polk Township, was entered by damaging a basement door. Once inside the criminals removed copper piping from the basement.

The break-in occurred sometime between midnight and 9 a.m. on May 17.

A burglary occurred at a residence along Forest Drive, in Ross Township, Monroe County. A window was used to gain entry. Once inside the criminals removed a wooden jewelry box containing about $1,000 worth of various jewelry items. The entry occurred sometime between noon and 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 20.

Troopers are investigating the entry of several vehicles in the area of Club Road and Molly Drive, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, that occurred on Sunday about 3 a.m. Taken from the vehicles were such items as cash, cigarettes and jewelry.

A suspect was observed by a resident. He was described as being a white male, about 16-years-old, weighing about 180 pounds, with brown shoulder length hair, gray or tan skull cap, black sweater and khaki shorts.
