Gildea honored for 55 years as Little League ump

On Saturday, May 12, Donny Gildea (back row, center) was recognized by the Lansford Little League after throwing out the first ball to open the 2012 season. League President Mike Turrano (back row, fourth from right) and league vice president Glen Karnish (back row, fourth from left) presented Gildea with a plaque and jacket for 55 years of volunteering as an umpire. Donny and his brother Ed Gildea umpired the first Lansford Little League game in 1957. Also taking part in the presentation are the Lansford American Legion Little League team.
