Franklin Township supervisors approve bids for township roads

Franklin Township supervisors recently opened bids for seal coatings on various township roads. Selected as the low bidder was Asphalt Paving Systems, who has a satellite location in Mahoning Township.

Asphalt Paving System bid $29,344.53 for seal coatings for the following road surfaces, Indian Hill loop, Vine Street, Scenic View Lane, Watson Park Boulevard, Malibu Drive and Mountain View Road.

The board also approved the bid by Lehigh Asphalt to make street improvements to Cedar Street from Market to Fourth Street, and Market Street, from Long Run Road to Fairyland Road using 2012 Community Development Block Grant funds. Lehigh Asphalt was the lowest bidder for materials.

The board of supervisors also approved a request by Franklin Township Special Fire Police to provide assistance on Sunday, June 3 for the Black Bear Triathlon at Beltzville State Park and to provide assistance for the Grange flea market.
