In addition to their usual appearances at parking lots and along the banks of the Little Schuylkill River, Tamaqua's ducks have grown bold in recent days and are often seen waddling across busy roads. Caring citizens, aware of the danger, routinely divert the ducks away or guide them safely across the streets. A male and female duck stand dangerously close to a crossing curb at the SR309 and Cedar Street intersection.
