At the May 8 meeting of the Carbon County Agricultural Preservation Board, held at the Bowmanstown borough hall, Rodney George received a proclamation from the board of Commissioners of Carbon County. The board wanted to extend its gratitude for the work George has done over the years. In his time serving the agricultural committee, George saw over 1,300 acres of farmland and 17 farms entered into the Farmland Preservation Committee for Carbon County. George served on the board since 1990, and as chairman of the board since 2001. From left, Robert Selert, John Strokoz, Rodney George, Richard Fedor, Duane Dellecker and Daniel Shoenberger.
