Published May 17. 2012 05:01PM

Both drivers involved in a crash along a Schuylkill County road were injured and taken to a Montour County hospital. State police at Frackville said the crash occurred about 3:45 p.m. on Monday, May 14, along SR4033 (Ringtown Blvd.), a tenth of a mile south of Shenandoah Road, in Union Township.

Troopers said Samantha Foresman, 20, of Ringtown, was operating a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire northbound when, for unknown reasons, she steered into the southbound lane where her vehicle was struck by a 1994 GMC Jimmy driven by William Navitsky, 55, of Shenandoah.

Foresman was trapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated by rescue personnel. Both drivers were taken to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for treatment of injuries. Both vehicles sustained heavy damages, troopers said.

The investigation into the crash is continuing and troopers ask anyone who might have witnessed the accident to call them at (570) 874-5300.
