Seat belt program set for Kidder

Published May 17. 2012 05:01PM

Kidder Township police announced that officers will begin seat belt enforcement activities as part of a national "Click It or Ticket" seat belt enforcement mobilization program. The program will be held from May 21 through June 10.

The law enforcement activities will be conducted near the Penn/Kidder Campus along SR903 or on state routes 940 and 534, and other township roads.

The enforcement, coupled with educational outreach efforts, will raise awareness of a law that went into effect in December. The primary law states all vehicles occupants under 18 must wear a seat belt. Drivers and front-seat passengers over 18 who are cited for another traffic violation will receive a second ticket if they're unbuckled.
