One driver was injured in a two vehicle crash that occurred about 1:16 p.m. Monday, May 14, at the intersection of SR61 and N. Greenview Drive, in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said June E. Faber, 77, of Orwigsburg, operating a 1997 Ford Club wagon, stopped for a stop sign on Greenview Drive, then pulled into the intersection without yielding the right-of-way where her vehicle was struck by a 2010 Toyota Venza driven southbound by Chaza Fares Abdul-Al, 40, of Eysburg, Northumberland County.

Aboul-Al was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. Faber was not injured.

Troopers cited Faber for stop signs and yield signs.

Troopers also investigated a crash about 2:55 p.m. Monday along SR901 (Gordon Nagle Trail), in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Christopher B. Yost, 18, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina eastbound and failed to negotiate a right curve. The car swerved into the oncoming lane and traveled off the north side where it struck a dirt embankment.

The car then began to rotate clockwise and overturned onto its roof, then traveled about 40 feet east along the embankment, and came to rest on its roof in the westbound lane.

Yost and his passenger, a 16-year-old female from Pottsville, were transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment of minor injuries, troopers said.

Yost was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un)safe speed.
