Attempted break-in, theft probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating an attempted burglary and a theft from vehicle incident.

The attempted break-in occurred at the home of David A. Wildermuth, 64, of 2417 Panther Valley Road, Pottsville, North Manheim Township. Troopers said unknown criminals attempted to gain entry by prying away three aluminum mesh screens from two front porch windows of the home. They also attempted to gain entry through a rear window. The screens were bent and discarded a short distance from the home. Damages were estimated at $60.

The incident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. on Friday, May 11, and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The theft from vehicle incident occurred at 26 Whispering Pines Blvd., in Pine Grove Township. Rebecca Kroh, 38, reported her 1999 Chrysler LHS was entered while parked near her home. Troopers did not indicate what was taken. The incident occurred sometime between 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
