Seussical Jr. comes to Towamensing stage

Are you looking for great music? Colorful costumes? Witty dialogue? Then you won't want to miss Towamensing Elementary School's spring musical presentation, "Seussical Jr." on Thursday, May 17 at 7 p.m. All your favorite Dr. Seuss characters like Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and a little girl with a big imaginationJojo. The colorful characters transports you from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. The story centers around Horton the Elephant. He must protect his tiny friend Jojo (and all the invisible Whos) from a world of naysayers and dangers. Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, but the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him, the only one who recognizes "his kind and his powerful heart." Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant, in a story that makes you laugh and cry. The three main characters (center) are played by Kelly Heinick (JoJo), Matthew Binder (Horton), and Mitchell Hourt (Cat in the Hat.)
