State police at Fogelsville are investigating a burglary that occurred at the Old Homestad Golf Course, located at 6598 SR309, in Lynn Township, Lehigh County, in which the culprits escaped by driving stolen golf carts.

Troopers said unknown criminals pried open a door at the course and once inside took several bank bags containing an unknown amount of money. They also took $200 from a cash register in the pro shop.

The criminals then broke into a locked office on the second floor and took a wallet and a white and gold limited edition Colt 45 revolver that was still in its original glass case.

The intruders then cut off the lock on the cart barn and stole three golf carts and fled west on the golf course. They continued to drive west and came out on Camp Meeting Road. They then drove south on Camp Meeting Road and made a right onto Flint Hill Road and then a left into a dirt/grass field located across from 7327 Flint Hill Road.

At this point they abandoned the golf carts and fled the scene. The incident occurred early Sunday morning and was reported about 4 a.m.
