Installation of officers for the Concourse Club, Palmerton, took place at the 97th anniversary dinner held at Blue Ridge Country Club on May 3. Officers' terms are for two years. Named were Debbie Lutz, recording secretary; Joann Kerschmar, president; Marge Porambo, treasurer and Lisa Snell Kern, vice president. Not available for the picture was Carol Costenbader, corresponding secretary. The Concourse Club has been extremely successful, and all money raised goes back to the community. Its major fundraiser is a "Basket Spectacular." Every other year a Christmas tour is sponsored. The club also organizes concerts in the park and sponsors one. Each year it names five girls as Guiding Stars, and the top two seniors at Palmerton Area High School receive $500 scholarships. The club also sponsors the art show at the Community Festival.
