Patrick Kelly Jr., 26, of 19 E. Kline Ave., Lansford, faces charges from an incident which took place on April 24 at 1:52 a.m. at his home.

Charges were filed by borough Officer Jeffrey Ohl. Kelly Jr. is charged with two counts of simple assault and harassment.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, here's what happened:

Ohl received a phone call from a Susan Kelly, who said her son, Patrick Kelly Jr., had just assaulted her and that she had fled to a neighbor's house. Ohl went there to find Susan Kelly visibly upset. She told him she had been sleeping downstairs with her grandchildren when she was wakened by Patrick screaming.

She said one of her dogs had bitten him on the hand, and he pulled out a knife and said he was going to cut the dog's throat.

Susan told Ohl she yelled at Patrick and told him she was going to call the police. She said he smashed the phone and threatened to kill her if she did.

She told Ohl that when she tried to leave, Patrick hit her in the face with a shoe and grabbed her and punched her twice in the head.

She said she then ran out the back door to the neighbor's. Ohl went to Kelly's house and arrested Patrick.
