Planning a special fishing party

The annual fishing party for special needs children throughout Carbon County, sponsored by the Jim Thorpe American Legion Post, will be held Thursday and Friday at Germantown Grove in Jim Thorpe, with over 230 youngsters participating during the two days. The Legion has been sponsoring the event for over 40 years. Matt King, second from right, of Americare Home Care Services, presents check totaling $775 to be applied to the tourney, to Kenneth Hurley, Legion commander. Others are Legion officers, l-r, Tom Williams, sergeant-at-arms; Keith McQaitt, second vice commander, and Frank Sebelin, finance officer.
