Stabbing incident in Slatington; suspect charged

A man was injured during a stabbing that occurred in Slatington Sunday afternoon.

Slatington police said the incident occurred after 5 p.m. in the area of Long Alley and W. Washington Street.

Slatington police Sgt. Aoercia said police were called to the scene as the result of a fight in progress.

The victim was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. His condition was unknown.

Aoercia said he couldn't reveal the name of the victim because the matter was still under investigation.

This morning police said Joseph Muse, 22, of 117 Cherry St., Slatington, has been charged in connection with the incident. He has been charged with aggravated and simple assault, and possession of an instrument of crime.

No other details concerning the victim's name or the circumstances of the incident was available at presstime.

Walnutport and Lehigh Township police, and state police at Bethlehem also assisted at the scene.
