Pleasant Valley picked up wins in both baseball and softball action on Thursday.
Northwestern posted a 6-3 Colonial League win over Palmerton.
The Tigers' Tyler Bartholomew had a nice day at the plate getting three hits and knocking in two runs. Austin Kelly added two hits and scored a run.
The Bombers' Cody Peters had two hits, including a double, and a run scored.
Northwestern improves to 12-6 overall and 8-6 in the league. Palmerton drops to 5-13 overall and 4-10 in the league.

Plesant Valley dominated Pocono Mountain West from the onset scoring a 10-0 Mountain Valley Conference win after just six innings.
John Guadgna, Rob Getz, Dan Hrbek, Tom Agosta all had hits for the Bears. Guadagna drove in three runs, Getz and Hrbek had two RBIs apiece, and Agosta added one RBI.
Hrebek went the distance on the mound for Pleasant Valley, tossing a two-hit shutout.

Weatherly jumped out to a one-run lead early, but Shenandoah Valley scored four runs in the fourth inning to secure a 6-1 Schuylkill League victory.
Devils' pitcher Chris Marconi scattered six hits and held the Wreckers scoreless for the final six innings to get the win.

Blue Mountain scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take home a 3-1 Schuylkill League victory over Tamaqua.
With the bases loaded in the fourth, Casey Watson roped a two-run single to rally the Eagles.
Brett Kosciolek had two hits for Tamaqua while Adam Bates had a double and scored the Raiders lone run.

The loss drops Tamaqua to 5-12 on the year.

Schuylkill Haven scored seven runs over the final two innings to rally to a 10-9 Schuylkill League victory over Marian.
With Marian leading 7-4 in the bottom of the sixth, Schuylkill Haven's Collin McGee belted a three-run home run to tie the game.
The Colts regained the lead in the top of the seventh when Mike Cataldo and Frank Nietz scored on a Hurricanes throwing error off a double steal.
With Marian leading 9-7, Schuylkill Haven loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. A Vince Fanelli two-run single tied the game at 9-9. A bases-loaded walk eventually forced home the game-winning run.
Anthony Pilla had two hits and an RBI to pace the Colts (8-5, 5-4).

The Lady Bears scored 15 runs in the first two innings and got home runs from Nicole Kregeloh and Diane Klapatch.

Pine Grove routed Jim Thorpe, 12-0, in Schuylkill League play.
Ethel Santai fired a three-hit shutout for Pine Grove and aided her own cause with a home run.

Lehighton showed no mercy on East Stroudsburg South with a 20-1 Mountain Valley Conference victory.
The Lady Indians scored eight runs in the second inning and added 12 runs in the third.
Sophia Everett had three hits, two runs and two RBIs for Lehighton. Ashley Sensinger added three hits, three runs and an RBI; Jena Smith tacked on two hits, three runs and three RBIs; and Julianna Evans got in on the action with two hits, three runs and three RBIs.
