Lansford man charged with sexual assault on girl, 14
A Lansford man is in Carbon County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail after allegedly having sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl in the borough.
John Anthony Provisiero, 19, of East Kline Avenue, was charged by Lansford Detective Jack Soberick with allegedly forcing himself upon the girl in a Lansford residence.
Proviero has been charged with statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, and corruption of minors. All the charges are felonies.
The alleged assault happened on Friday, April 13 and into the morning of Saturday, April 14, according to the affidavit.
Provisiero was arraigned Monday before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek on the charges.
Soberick writes in the affidavit that he interviewed the victim who told her Provisiero "persisted in attempting to convince (her) to engage in sex with him."
Allegedly Provisiero then forced himself upon her.
Soberick said Provisiero has admitted to committing a sexual act with the child.
A hearing for Provisiero is scheduled for May 9 before Kosciolek.
