Lansford police took two wanted persons into custody as a result of an incident which began in Coaldale on April 26 at 5:37 p.m.

Police located a vehicle that had been involved in a gas drive off that was initially reported to Coaldale police. The vehicle was stopped at Patterson and Springgarden streets. Upon speaking with all individuals in the vehicle, it was learned that a passenger, Michael Vereen, 31, of Gilbert, was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on drug charges issued from Carbon County.

He was arrested and later transported to Carbon County Prison. Another passenger gave his name as Michael M. Cascio, age 27, and he stated he was from New York. Cascio later admitted that he gave a false name and he was actually Michael Egitto, 23, of Albrightsville. A record check revealed he had an outstanding felony warrant from New York for burglary. He was also arrested and arraigned as a fugitive from justice and committed to Carbon County Prison. Egitto also faces charges for false identification and possession of drug paraphernalia.
